Dustin HunleyDustin Hunley’s music rouses spirits and moves bodies as the primary musician for our weekly worship experience.

As a performer, Dustin has performed as a pianist, vocalist and musical director for over 20 years in a wide variety of jazz, popular, funk, and commercial groups.  He played keyboards with the house band at last summer’s Unitarian Universalist General Assembly in Portland, OR.  He currently performs as a soloist and with many of Portland’s best jazz musicians at its top venues. Prior to his move to Portland, he has performed in countless venues, and has played extended engagements in Las Vegas and on a Carnival Cruise Liner.

Dustin is the Director of Children’s Choirs of the First Unitarian Church of Portland, and is a singer and soloist in the church’s Unitarian and Chamber Choirs.  Dustin also teaches musicianship and is an accompanist for the Oregon Repertory Singers Youth Choir.

He holds a Masters of Science in Music from Portland State University, and a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Piano Performance from the University of Denver. Dustin has completed the four-year levels training program in the Kodály music education method, and his classroom instruction and curriculum are inspired by the artistry and excellence that Kodály believed exist in each child.
